In the bustling shopping district of Tenmonkan in Kagoshima City, I came across a fascinating sight. An international model was elegantly wearing a kimono while walking through the streets and filming a promotional video. (It seems that anyone can rent a kimono here.)

Curious, I had a chance to speak with the shop owner, whose store is located right in the heart of Tenmonkan. The owner’s passion for sharing Japanese culture and their incredible skill in kimono dressing truly stood out—they were extremely welcoming and attentive!

Recently, Kagoshima has been seeing more inbound visitors, many of whom are eager to experience Japanese culture firsthand. Walking through the city in a kimono while capturing photos and videos with the cityscape as a backdrop makes for wonderful memories.

If any of my international friends visit Kagoshima, I would confidently recommend this experience.
